Billy Thurman, Executive Chef

Billy grew up in Akron, Ohio. He got his start in the restaurant business at age 14, working as a dishwasher at Crocker’s Bar and Grille in the valley. He quickly realized that he was passionate about the food industry and began to work diligently towards his ultimate goal of becoming a chef.

While holding positions at Beau’s Tavern and Ken Stewart’s Grille, he gained the experience and the confidence he needed to take the next step in his career. Having no formal training, he was given an opportunity in Florida. At age 25, he became the Executive Chef at The Twilight Café in Sanibel Island. He was very successful in Florida as well as his later positions in Atlanta, Rockport and San Francisco.
